Vampire Bat

So, just there ahead of us, that dark hole, is a cave and that's where we're heading. Watch your step, it's slippery.

Heading into the dark where the vampires roost is seriously spooky stuff. The cave stinks with hundreds of years of poo.

It's the perfect hidey-hole for bats. In the darkest corners of the cave, fluttering shapes catch my eye.

Oh, look at that! Can you see that Johnny? One in? Yep, got one . So what I have in this bag is an animal that's probably inspired more meatmyth and legend than any other animal in the world.

It's a vampire bat. They have also possibly the sharpest teeth of any animal, which explains why I'm wearing these big, thick gardening gloves before I even think about trying to get it out.

Last time I tried to do this, it bit clean through the glove and into my finger. So I'm going to go to quite careful. Right!

Let's get you into a good position. Look at him whirling around to try and get his... huge canine teeth into my fingers. Okay.

So that is the face that all the fuss is about: the vampire bat. If you look at its mouth, you can see the most special set of teeth found just about anywhere.

Above me now is a roost of about 30 or 40 vampire bats and at night,they'll take wing using that remarkable wing membrane, and fly out in search of a warm-blood meal.

They use the ridiculously sharp teeth at the front of the mouth here... I don't want to get my finger too close.

I just know I'll get bitten on camera! But they shave away a portion of hair from the animal they're going to be feeding on, and then bite a tiny hole and then lap away at the blood that leaks out, and their saliva keeps the blood flowing, it's what's called an anticoagulant.

They take in about a soup spoon of blood, which doesn't sound like much but when you look at the size of this tiny bat, actually for its body weight, that's an enormous meal.

While it might seem that everything about vampire bats is just a bit grim and grotesque amongst themselves, they're really quite thoughtful creatures.

In fact, if they come back from having got a very good meal, and there's another bat here that hasn't managed to feed, one of these guys will actually regurgitate their blood meal and give some to the other bat.

They look after each other. So vampire bats - they may be the creature of nightmares but with possibly the sharpest teeth in the whole animal kingdom, I reckon they're worth a place on the Deadly 60.

what would i do if i were on Emmanuel's situation

well i probably would do the same thing, i would be a fighter i think is the same situation with my sickness because i try to fight all the day to find something that could help me about it, because it so hard have a sickness or have a missing part of your body, is really dificult because everybody looks at you if you had something strange and then they lose their fear and start asking about it; but i really believe that he is so stronge and is more stronge than me.

Halloween's history

Halloween's night was celebrated 3000 thousand years ago by the "Celtas" a war twon from Ireland, Ingland, Scotland and French, on 31st octuber the "Celtas" celebrated end of year with the "Samhain (Meeting)" a pagan holiday .
The European immigration to United Estates, principally the catolic Irishes in 1846, the tradition of halloween finally begins and came to the American continent. When you talk about halloween you're talking about costumes, make up, parties, candys, and kids. But the tradition say's that this celebration not always was a holiday or happy, and this rites always had been practiced in nights were purified and religous.

What is the meaning of Halloween?

the king Constantin decree that all people who lived in his empire must be christian, then a los of pagan rites get in and the Samhan celebration too.
On VIII century, the christian church decree day  "all hallows eve" on november 1st, but the day before they told to the empire whta was the name for the 1st november on having happening the years was changing the name at finaly the name was Halloween.

A big opportunitie lost but a new one

before i get in the university, i was trying to en-roll me in la Pedagogica university i tried 3 times but the last one i passed and they didn't call me so i went there and they tell me that i didn't passed with them, so i was so angry about it, a few days latter i was surffing on red and i was chating  with a good friend, she is colombian but she live in Germany since she was 6 years and she was telling me that i need go there, know the culture, new people, making new friends and probably stard university there, when we finished our chat and i had this curiosity about it so i start to reading about the country everything , and i started to looking for my documents for my travel, when i had all my documents  someday i was on bedroom watching and checking what i was missing for my travel and then my mom get in my room so happy and she told me that day "hey!! i know you are so angry about it but i had something for you" and she give me a little paper, i remember that i was thinking "ohh my God!! i hope this paper is not what i believe" and yeah it was; it was the inscription of la Gran Colombia university and now im studing here well i love been here but when i think i could go away i think:

• if  i had go away, i would had finished my career
• if i had go away, i would knew more than one language
• if i had go away, i would had more things for me
• if i had go away, i would had a better life than now
